The Frame category holds what you lay a board out with: the frame. It sits on the palette strip after Write. Everywhere else in the palette you are adding something to the canvas; here you are deciding how the canvas is arranged.
What the category contains
- A Frame is a labelled box that groups a section of the canvas: the notes from one room, one topic of a meeting, or one team's corner of a Space. It draws behind its contents and carries them when you move it. Press
Fto add one. See Frames.
Working with frames
A frame behaves like any other element once placed: select, restyle, lock, and move it freely, and it can carry a link, a note, or a comment like anything else on the canvas.
Because a frame holds other work, two habits pay off. Put the frame down first and fill it afterwards, so the things inside are captured by it as you go. And when you move one, check what came with it: a frame carries everything whose centre sits inside it, which is usually what you want and occasionally a surprise. Resizing a frame never moves its contents.
Reach for frames at the start of a meeting: lay out one per topic, name each, then drop the sticky notes into the frame they belong to.
